Manually Ordering a Domain
Purpose:
This SOP outlines the steps to manually order a domain for Ashlex Hosting clients. This ensures accurate domain registration and customer satisfaction.
Prerequisites:
- Confirm the domain name availability.
- Verify the client’s account details in WHMCS.
Procedure:
1. Log in to the Admin Panel
2. Access the Client Profile
- Go to the "Clients" section.
- Search for the client by:
- Name
- Email address
- Client ID
- Click on the client’s name to open their profile.
3. Initiate a New Order
- In the client’s profile, click on "Add New Order".
- Fill out the order form:
- In the "Domain Registration" section select Registration
- Domain Name: Enter the domain the client wants to register.
- Registration Period: Select the registration duration (e.g., 1 year, 2 years).
4. Configure Domain Options
- Domain Add-ons:
- Select the add-ons (like WHOIS / ID protection) requested by the client.
6. Save and Place the Order
- Click "Submit Order" to place the order.
7. Process the Domain Registration
Auto Registration
- The invoice Should be Paid to register the domain Automatically
Manual Registration (Shouldn’t be used unless compulsary) - Click the "Registrar" dropdown and select the registrar.
- Click Accept Order to register the domain
(Note: Once you click on the accept order button, the domain will be registered, and payment will be deducted by the registrar. This action is not reversible. You should only register manually if the payment is received for the domain or you have authorization to do so.) - Wait for the system to confirm the registration status.
8. Notify the Client
- Send an email or notification to the client confirming the domain registration.
- Include details such as:
- Domain name
- Registration period
- Nameservers
Post-Procedure:
- Verify the domain registration is active in the registrar’s system.
- Update internal records or client notes with the domain registration details.
